    The session is fully covered by Lower Adirondack Pride, so you can focus on receiving support without financial stress.

  • The appointment can address immediate concerns such as safety planning, coping skills, or stress management.

    This is a one-time session and is not intended as ongoing therapy.

  • Your application is private and reviewed only by the President of Lower Adirondack Pride.

    Information may be securely shared with therapists to ensure the best match.

    Personal identifying information is only shared once you are matched with a provider.

Our Free Mental Health Counseling Program offers one-time, affirming counseling sessions to support LGBTQIA+ individuals. Expand each section below to learn how to apply, what to expect, and important program details.

1. Complete the Application: Start by filling out the application form below. Please include all required information accurately to help us determine your needs. 

2. Connecting with a Therapist: Once your application is approved, Lower Adirondack Pride will connect you with a licensed therapist from our network of mental health professionals. We aim to match you with a therapist who can best support your individual needs.

3. Coordination with Your Therapist: After being connected, you’ll coordinate directly with the assigned therapist to schedule your one-off appointment. Lower Adirondack Pride will cover the cost of this session, so you can focus on receiving the support you need without any financial burden.

4. One-Time Counseling Appointment: Attend your session as scheduled with your therapist, knowing that Lower Adirondack Pride is proud to sponsor this opportunity for you to access affirming and compassionate mental health support. This appointment can be used for a variety of purposes, including safety planning, learning coping skills, and processing immediate stressors. Please note, however, that this session is intended as a one-time sessions and should not be considered a long-term therapeutic relationship.


Statement of Non-Liability: Lower Adirondack Pride and its affiliates, including contracted or referred mental health professionals, assume no liability for outcomes related to the counseling sessions provided through this program. This counseling session is intended for immediate, short-term support and does not replace ongoing mental health care. Lower Adirondack Pride cannot guarantee the availability of specific professionals or services beyond the scope of this program. By participating, applicants agree to hold Lower Adirondack Pride, its affiliates, and participating mental health professionals harmless of any liability arising from the use or outcomes of these sessions.


Confidentiality:
This application is private and intended only for review by the President of Lower Adirondack Pride. Information regarding your preferred session type and specific session needs may be shared, privately and securely, with our mental health professionals to help match you with the best provider. Your name, address, and date of birth will not be shared until you have been matched with a provider.
