Take Action: Queensbury School Board
Our trans and LGBTQIA+ students have a right to learn safe, affirmed, and respected. Recent attacks on their rights are unacceptable—and illegal under New York State law. The Queensbury Union Free School District Board of Education must hold the line.
We need your help; sign on to the letter below to send this message: loud and clear.
Dear President Timothy Weaver and Members of the Board of Education,
We, the people of this community, are writing as one united voice: it is your job to hold the line. Transgender and LGBTQIA+ students in Queensbury Schools have legal rights under New York State law, and they deserve to attend school safe, affirmed, and respected. Anything less is not just wrong—it is illegal.
Recent actions in our district make it clear that these students are under attack. This is unacceptable. Queensbury Union Free School District exist to educate all children, not to single out or erase students for who they are. Policies, protections, and practices that affirm students’ identities are non-negotiable.
The people of this community are watching. We demand that you stand firm and ensure every LGBTQIA+ student can attend school without fear, harassment, or discrimination. Upholding the law is not optional. Protecting our kids is not optional. Failing them is a failure of this Board and a betrayal of this community.
We are the people who live here. We are the people who raise our children here. We are the people who will fight for the safety, dignity, and legal rights of every student. Hold the line. Protect our kids. Affirm our kids. Queensbury Union Free School District cannot—and will not—fail them.
Sincerely,
